Résumé After inspection, it appears that oolites in the Aelenian of Lorraine and Devonian of Gara Djebilet, are very often Nubecularidea. The mineralization of these oolitic-shaped elements results from a metasomatic process. This observation supports the metasomatic theory and leads to the need for more attention being paid to the shaped elements of the microfacies.
